Rental Payments

Two weeks rent in advance must be paid at the time the Residential Tenancy Agreement is signed (or the tenancy commences). Tenants must continue to be two weeks in advance throughout their tenancy. Rent can be paid either weekly or fortnightly. We do not offer a monthly payment option.

Our preferred payment method is through the Centrepay Deduction scheme. Centrepay is a free service offered by Centrelink. An agreed upon amount is regularly deducted from the tenant's Centrelink payment before the payment is deposited into their bank account. This system of payment ensures that the rent is always paid on time, and helps tenants manage their personal finances.

Other payment options include, direct deposit into the Metro bank account – either by depositing money at any CBA bank or by Netbank direct debit transfers to the Metro account. Tenants who pay this way will be supplied with an agent number and/or deposit book for the Metro bank account. It is important that you always enter the agent number when making a payment so that we know who the money is coming from.

Tenants can also make cash/cheque or money order payments at our office. Tenants who pay this way will be issued receipts for any monies paid. Rent receipts will contain the information required by the Residential Tenancies Act 1987. Details of all rent/other payments will be recorded on the Tenant Management System database.

We also request that all tenants sign an income information consent form. This form allows us to download income statements directly from Centrelink. This means that we are able to confirm any income changes, and adjust rent immediately if necessary.
